![]() I don't really know either how it's broken, the guy who owns it previously said it to me before i buy it, but he have shown it in a video form that the dvi port did work but he uses a dvi-d to vga converter so i don't know if that might be the problem (edit : i wrongly said it's a converter but it's a adapter) ![]() are the connectors bad, are they pulled/removed from circuit board, how do you know they're bad? It would be best to explain how it's broken. Something like that would be required only if you want resolutions higher than 1920x1200. You're saying the word "converter" but that implies it's an "active" adapter, a device that has some processor which converts the digital signal into another digital signal. Otherwise, HDMI supports a subset of DVI (DVI Single Link, up to 1920x1200), so you can use passive adapters that simply rearrange the wires between connectors. If the HDMI connector is damaged in such a way that some pins inside the connector touch, it could be that affects the DVI connector as well. Some video cards have a shared DVI and HDMI outputs, meaning you can use only ONE of them, not both at same time.
